Hey [Best Friend’s Name], my brain has apparently decided that birthdays are optional this year. I am SO incredibly sorry for the late birthday wishes! Life got a little crazy there, and before I knew it, an embarrassing amount of time had zipped by. You know I would never intentionally forget to celebrate you, you deserve all the fanfare!

I feel awful that I missed the actual day. It’s just not right that you didn’t get a timely barrage of silly memes, embarrassing old photos, and me singing off-key over a video call (which, granted, might be a blessing in disguise!). Missing out on celebrating you properly feels like forgetting sunshine – the world just isn’t as bright without your presence, and definitely not as fun without celebrating another year of you!
