Seriously though, you’re getting older, which means you’re just one year closer to needing help blowing out all those candles. Remember that time you nearly set off the smoke alarm attempting to huff and puff on your birthday cake? Good times, good times. I hope you’re ready for more hilarious memories – and potentially more fire hazards – this year!

Another year older, huh? Honey, I swear, just yesterday you were chasing me around the yard with water balloons. Now you’re chasing me around the house for the TV remote! I guess time flies when you’re having fun… or at least when someone is finally old enough to complain about their back. Seriously though, birthday boy, where did the years go?

And let’s be real, birthdays are a little scary. More candles, more gray hairs, more doctor’s appointments looming on the horizon. It’s basically a reminder that we’re one step closer to needing help getting out of the recliner and yelling at kids to get off our lawn. Plus, I have to figure out how to top last year’s surprise party, which involved a donkey and a slightly-too-enthusiastic mariachi band. My therapist is still talking about that, by the way.

Another year has spun by in a whirlwind of laughter, maybe a few tears (mostly from embarrassing childhood stories, let’s be honest!), and countless shared moments. It feels like just yesterday we were raiding Mom’s closet and plotting elaborate schemes, but somewhere along the way, you became this amazing, incredible woman.

Finding the perfect words to capture how much you mean to me feels impossible! A simple “Happy Birthday” seems way too inadequate for the sister who’s been my confidante, partner-in-crime, and biggest cheerleader. No card, no matter how glittery or heartfelt, could truly express the gratitude and love I feel for you.
